Natural disasters are low probability/ high impact calamities. The National Lightning Safety Institute (NLSI) quantifies Risk Management of the Lightning Hazard in detail using the NLSI Template:
For People Safety
Detection
Notification
Safe Shelter
Threat Re-Evaluation
Resume Activities
Policies/Procedures
Education/Training
For Equipment/Facilities Safety
Air Terminals
Bonding
Shielding
Grounding
Surge Protection
Maintenance
Inspection/Testing
NLSI provides objective assistance. It's all about attention to details. We apply science, engineering, and industrial organization to manage risk. We consult to identify vulnerabilities and to organize defenses. We teach to educate, to inform and to train personnel. We have considerable international experience in aviation, communications and IT, defense including explosives, manufacturing and process control, mining, petrochemical, power generation and space launch sites.
