2-Day Graduate Study Program Workshop:
Lightning Protection for Engineers
The Graduate Study Program (GSP) is an intensive, two-day workshop on how to reduce the risk of lightning damage in expensive, mission-critical facilities. This course will provide your organization with a certified expert who is familiar with lightning hazards and can determine courses of action that will promote safety in your facility. Graduates receive accreditation for this Advanced Study Program.

Who Should Attend
This non-technical workshop is designed for responsible managers, specifying architects and engineers, technicians, maintenance personnel, and supervisory personnel. Useful, but not essential, backgrounds include the following: engineering or technical field; risk management or safety; loss control or hazard analysis; facilities management
In this workshop, you will learn about critical aspects of lightning, such as:
The course also covers practical aspects of transient overvoltages protection of electrical and electronic equipment as well as performance and installation of various lightning safety equipment.
A course examination is given, and successful graduates will receive NLSI's GSP accreditation with Diploma, attesting to completion of the Advanced Study Program. Tuition for this course qualifies as continuing education and is tax-deductible.
Classes run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and are limited to 15-20 attendees. The tuition is $995 per person. Classes are conducted at selected locations in the U.S. and abroad. Custom classes can usually be set up. Please send email to contact NLSI for more information.
Classes are informal with frequent question-and-answer dialogs. Videos, slides, and overhead transparencies are integrated into the lesson plan. A complete Lesson Plan Workbook and other documents are provided for students, including the most recent version of NFPA-780.
